Something of a local institution, the Falaj
Daris is one of the oldest hotels outside of
Muscat. After enjoying a welcome coffee from
the tribesman surrounded by traditional
paraphernalia at the door, you pass into the
first courtyard where attractive greenery
surrounds a small pool. The next courtyard
is far larger and has a second, also far
larger, pool. The rooms are simple but
comfortable and the buffet restaurant
provides a good selection of Arabic
specialities, which is important as Nizwa is
not blessed with many great restaurants. |
